Eleanor's Arrival

It all started at admissions Sunday night. We arrived before 11 PM for our scheduled induction. My water broke on its own early Monday morning, and they started the pitocin drip around 7 AM. Despite having good contractions most of the day, I never dilated past a 4. So, we decided to go for a C-Section. It was nervous, but it was great to have peapod come out!
My last day being able to use my belly as a shelf for all my snacks!
We were worried about her because her heart rate had dropped during the day and I had meconium staining in the amniotic fluid. But she came out screaming! She's got a great set of lungs. Our first family picture with Eleanor!

I was worried I would be the last person to be able to hold Ella, but Greg brought her back to PACU so I could spend some time with her. I even tried to breast feed while we were in PACU.

After her bath we realized she has a full head of blonde hair! Where did that come from?
I'm pretty sore from the incision and I can't cough very well, but otherwise am doing well. Greg is a great daddy so far and has been a tremendous help. We are just in love with our new baby girl! For more pictures, check out our picasa album: http://picasaweb.google.com/wheatleymeg/PeapodSArrival#
We are supposed to be discharged tomorrow morning and can't wait to take her home with us!

Off to Women's!

We are still patiently waiting Peapod's arrival (almost a week overdue now), but the wait will be over soon! We have an appointment tonight at Women's Hospital to start the induction. Hopefully she will be here sometime Monday or Tuesday!

Peapod's Eviction Notice

I had my 39 week check up today. It was as depressing as the last check up. I'm still not dilated, not effaced and the baby hasn't dropped :-( The one bright spot was that we scheduled an induction for a week after my due date- Nov. 16th. Can't wait for her to come out! I'm so tired of being pregnant!!!

Baby and the Fair

Eleanor at 37wk2d. She's got quite the cheeks.
So after hearing that Eleanor had finally decided to listen to her parents and turn the right way, we went to celebrate at the NC State Fair "A Whole lotta happy."
This is our annual event and Megan wasn't going to miss it. We met up with her sister, Teri, and had a great day of food, animals, and the talents of NC.

Megan ate her roasted corn, I tried deep fried cookie dough for the first time (it's a keeper), and we all 3 tried some of Teri's chocolate covered bacon (not a keeper).

We are greatful for the talents in the family. Teri won 2nd place in the 'Stamping Misc' Category for her stamped candle (beside the doll in the picture). Good job Teri!
What a great place for families to come together, such as was the case for two sisters.
